Point Tool

The Point Tool is designed for precise annotation of objects that require marking specific points. It is particularly useful for tasks that involve identifying key points or structural elements of an object, such as joints, corners, or other critical features. This tool is frequently used in projects related to keypoint detection or when marking control points on images.

Follow these step-by-step instructions to use the Point Tool effectively for image annotation:

Create a Class with Point Shape

You can create a new class directly from the Annotation Toolbox. To do this:

  2. Alternatively, select an existing object class or add a new class by clicking Add new class definition.

  3. In the modal window, enter the class name, choose Point as the shape, and configure additional settings (e.g., color, hotkeys).

  4. Click the Create button to add the new class to the definitions list.

  5. Select the newly created class and start placing points on the object within the image or video.

  1. Select the Point Tool and click with the left mouse button on the desired location in the image to place a point.

  2. Use the settings panel to adjust parameters such as color, size, or label.

  4. After placing a point, select it and drag it to the desired location by holding the left mouse button.

  5. Click on the point you wish to delete and press the Delete key on your keyboard.
